À travers OM43, Mathieu Courchesne (modèle) et Pierre-Marc Beaumont (photographe) développent depuis 2023 une recherche artistique axée sur la représentation du corps nu masculin, hors des clichés habituels.
Le duo explore une nudité ambiguë, vulnérable, sensible – en rupture avec les esthétiques hypersexualisées ou distantes.
Leur travail repose sur un dialogue constant entre modèle et photographe, mis en image à travers des procédés mixtes : expositions multiples en prise directe, cyanotypes, gum over palladium…
Basé entre Montréal et Toronto, OM43 construit une œuvre en mouvement, à la croisée du documentaire intime, de la performance et de la photographie fine art.
Under OM43, model Mathieu Courchesne and photographer Pierre-Marc Beaumont have been building an ongoing artistic exploration of the nude male body since 2023.
Their work challenges conventional representations, embracing emotional ambiguity, intimacy, and vulnerability over traditional or hypersexualized aesthetics.
Each series emerges from a collaborative process rooted in trust and experimentation, using both in-camera multiple exposures and alternative photographic techniques such as cyanotype and gum over palladium.
Based between Montreal and Toronto, OM43’s evolving body of work blurs the line between intimate documentary, performance, and fine art photography.
